TOWNSHIP OF WANTAGE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
CERTAIN LANDS IN THE TOWNSHIP OF WANTAGE TO BE SOLD AT PRIVATE SALE
IN ACCORDANCE WITH N.J.S.A. 40A:12-13(b)(1).

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Committee of the
Township of Wantage have determined that municipally owned land known
as Block 2 Lot 2, as shown on the Township Tax Map, is no longer needed
for municipal purposes and as such shall be sold at private sale to
the United States of America in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:12- 13(b)(1);
and
WHEREAS, the Local Lands and Building Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:12-1, et seq.,
authorizes the sale by municipalities of any real property, capital
improvement or personal property no longer needed for public use.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Township
of Wantage that municipally owned land known as Block 2 Lot 2, as shown
on the Township Tax Map, containing approximately 19.592 acres of land,
as set forth in the attached Statement of Just Compensation which is
part of the attached agreement, shall be sold by private sale to the
United States of America. The property is unimproved and is being sold
by the Township ''as is".
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:12-13(b)(1),
the property is being privately offered for sale without the necessity
of public bidding to the United States of America.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED the following terms and conditions shall apply:
This Ordinance shall take effect after publication and passage according
to law.
TAKE NOTICE that the above entitled ordinance was introduced
at a regular meeting of the Township Committee of the Township of Wantage
on August 14, 2003, and will be considered for final passage after public
hearing at a regular meeting of the Township Committee of the Township
of Wantage to be held on September 11, 2003 at 8:00 p.m. in the Municipal
Building, 888 Route 23, Wantage, New Jersey.
