Ordinance No. 2006-03

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER II OF THE GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WANTAGE

BE IT ORDAINED by the Township Committee of the Township of Wantage, County of Sussex and State of New Jersey, that Chapter II of the General Ordinances of the Township of Wantage, being the Administration Chapter, shall be and is hereby amended as follows:

Section 1. Section 2-1.4a shall be amended to read as follows:

a. The Township Committee shall meet annually within the first week of January. The Committee shall meet regularly thereafter on days and times established in the Annual Meeting Resolution, except that the Committee may, by Resolution, dispense with or change the date of a regular meeting. When the time for any regular meeting of the Committee falls on a Legal Holiday as prescribed by law, such meeting shall be held at the same hour on some other day of the week at the convenience of the Committee.

Section 2. Severability.
If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby and shall remain in full force and effect.

Section 3. Repealer.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances or resolutions inconsistent or in opposition to the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed in their entirety.

Section 4. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect after publication and passage according to law.

NOTICE is given that this ordinance amendment was introduced and passed upon first reading at a meeting of the Mayor and Township Committee of the Township of Wantage, in the County of Sussex, New Jersey, held on the 26th day of January, 2006. It will be further considered for final passage with the proposed ordinance after public hearing at a meeting of the Mayor and Township Committee to be held in the Wantage Township Municipal Building, 888 Route 23, Wantage, New Jersey 07461, on February 9, 2006, at 8:00 o'clock P.M., and copies of the ordinance will be made available at the Clerk's office in the Municipal Building to members of the general public.
