Old Business

Dog Park
The Recreation Commission discussed concerns resident Jean Ann Jaeger recently brought to the attention of Mr. Doherty. Mrs. Jaeger was under the impression signs would be posted along Route 628 stating “No Parking”. Sussex County informed Mr. Doherty that it is not the policy of the County to designate a portion of a county roadway as being a no parking area.

Mrs. Jaeger is also concerned with high school students parking in the Dog Park during the school day. Mr. Baker stated he is aware of one high school student that parks in the park. Mr. Baker said if it becomes a parking lot for many high school students he will bring the discussion up once again with the Commission.

Mr. Baker informed the Commission the garage sale was a huge success the proceeds will be used for an eighteen by eighteen shade shelter. The next project is to find 50 donors to donate $100.00 each with Ace Well drilling the well.

Veterans Memorial Field:
Discussion continued regarding the upcoming car and motorcycle show to raise money for the Veterans Memorial. Mrs. Feoranzo stated she has been contacted by the State Police to volunteer traffic control for the event. The State Police also volunteered to do a “kick off ceremony”. Mrs. Feoranzo also discussed the 50/50, trophy sponsors and hiring a disc jockey.

The Commission discussed designating an area of the park as an all purpose area. The Commission feels we need a grass area that could be used for different events; such as the car show, craft shows and as an alternate practice field.

Open Public Session:

Adjournment:
A motion was made by Mr. Williams and seconded by Mrs. Feoranzo to adjourn.
Ayes: Feoranzo, Nuss, Williams, Card. Nays: None. Absent: Baig, Cary, Armstrong.

Respectfully submitted,
Jeanne McBride, Board Secretary
