Veterans' Memorial

Dear Supporters and Veterans,

Things are moving along nicely with the Veterans Memorial. This is the official launch of the memorial email address that can be used for communication and recruiting. We have sold four pavers to date and have recruited several new supporters during our last three fund raisers. For those of you who are just now learning about the memorial project let me bring you up to date.

Last year I proposed the construction of a Veterans Memorial in the township of Wantage with the support of the Wantage Recreation Committee. The memorial will be in honor of all those who have served past, present and future. This year the Wantage Town Council approved the design and construction of the memorial. It will be located in a designated park in Wantage NJ. I have included a picture of the model that was presented to the township.

We are now in the fund raising stage, and at the present time are selling engraved pavers for $75.00 that will make up the base of the monument. Order forms are available at your request. Currently we are looking for other civic groups to join us in organizing and raising money for the memorial. The latest estimate to construct the monument and landscape is $20,000 dollars.

Future opportunities for volunteers will include the construction of the monument and the organizing of the ceremony to dedicate the project. This event is tentatively scheduled for Memorial Day 2009 or 2010.

If you feel would like to be a part of this noble project please e-mail wantagetwpveteransmemorial@gmail.com
