Wantage Day 2018
Saturday, October 13 at Woodbourne Park
Our first Wantage Day Fall Festival started off with some rain, but the clouds cleared by noon and the sun was out for all to enjoy a beautiful fall day with our local organizations and vendors. Opening ceremonies started with the pavilion dedication thanking the Lange Family for their generous donation to our township residents, followed by Greg Williams (president of the Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee) acknowledging John and Susan Abate for their many hours of volunteering their time over 10+ years to the Wantage Day Pageants and then the introduction of our Little Miss Wantage (Harper Tilley), Little Mr. Wantage (Jackson Tilley) and Miss Wantage (Emily Dunn). Mayor Bill Gaechter welcomed residents to the Wantage Day Fall Festival and presented the Lange Family with a proclamation for the pavilion. Thank you to Wantage Fire Department, Wantage First Aid, and Sussex Fire Department for their attendance. Thank you to Blairstown Fire Department for providing the Fire Prevention Trailer, the Sussex Elks for their drug awareness booth, Atlantic Medical for their helicopter demonstration, Sussex-Wantage Little League for organizing the cornhole tournament, and High Point United Soccer Club for the human foosball game! A big thank you to all the vendors and schools who stuck it out through the rainy morning to be there for all of us that afternoon. Without all of you who volunteered your time, our Wantage Day Fall Festival could not have happened. Thank you!
Nicole Dunn, Secretary, Wantage Township Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee
