WHEREAS, the Wantage Township Committee previously adopted Ordinance
#2002-20 establishing traffic control regulations for the Northfields
development;
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Transportation has requested that
the Township amend its ordinance to delete any reference to Chapter
7 (Traffic) in the Township’s Code Book as Chapter 7 had not been
previously approved by the NJDOT;
WHEREAS, the Wantage Township Engineer has provided a revised certification
of approval, along with additional information requested by the DOT.
The Township Engineer has also certified the proposed traffic control
regulations for the Northfields development comply with the manual of
Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways as adopted
by the New Jersey Commissioner of Transportation, as required by N.J.S.A.
39:4-8;
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 39:4-8 authorizes the Township to adopt traffic control
regulations, subject to final approval by the New Jersey Department
of Transportation; and,
WHEREAS, the Wantage Township Committee believes it is in the best interest
of the Township to adopt the traffic regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Township Committee of the Township
of Wantage, that the following traffic control regulations are adopted
for the Northfields development:
