Mayor and Township Committee Workshop — Youth in Government
May 26, 2005
MINUTES OF THE “YOUTH IN GOVERNMENT” WORKSHOP MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COMMITTEE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WANTAGE HELD AT THE WANTAGE TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL BUILDING 888 ROUTE 23, WANTAGE, NEW JERSEY ON MAY 26, 2005

Mayor Parker Space called the meeting to order, and requested the Clerk to call the roll. Upon roll call, the following members of the governing body were present: Mayor Space, Committee members Parrott, DeBoer. The following members were absent: None.

Also present were Mayor Katherine Little, Sussex Borough, Sussex Borough Council members Coursen and Ezzo.

Mayor Space stated, “This meeting is being held in compliance with the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act, Public Laws 1975, Chapter 231. It has been properly noticed and posted to the public, and certified by the Clerk." Sussex Mayor Little read the Sussex Borough compliance statement with the Open Public Meetings Act.

Mayor Space led the assembly in the Salute to the Flag.

YOUTH IN GOVERNMENT PROGRAM
Students from the Sussex Middle School conducted a meeting at this time, acting as the various members of government for Wantage Township and Sussex Borough. The Students who participated were: Heather Burse, Lenny Wolff, Travis Perlee, Rebecca Lindsay, Edwin Maynard, Rachel Brummell, Jen Decker, Jake Checkur, Sean Block, Jack Unverzagt, Emily Carrollo, Erica Brunngraber, Christine Angolemmo, Ashley Lebelle, Jenna Stern, Amanda Shadwell, Aaron Hockstein, Jake Lewis, Nicole Armstrong, Braden Carter, Steven Hamilton, Chris Revell, Sukwinder Singh, Shelby Johnston, Corey VanOrden, Jared Shuster, Alex Adams, Caitlyn Vogel, Jonathan Curlis, Griffin Panicucci, Monroe Graham, Billy Suchoski, Samantha Mearkle.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS AND MESSAGES OF CONGRATULATIONS
Mr. Parrott, Mr. DeBoer, Ms. Coursen and Mr. Ezzo offered statements of thanks and appreciation to the student participants.

Ms. Eileen Potts expressed her congratulations to the students for their participation in this program, and offered her thanks to the municipal officials for once again making the Youth In Government Program a success.

PRESENTATIONS OF CERTIFICATES
Mayor Space and Mayor Little offered statements of thanks and appreciation to the student participants, and handed out certificates of commendation for all the students who participated in this program.

OPEN PUBLIC SESSION
Mayor Space opened the meeting to the public, for any questions or comments with respect to the good and welfare of the community. As no one from the public wished to speak, Mayor Space closed the meeting to the public and requested a motion to adjourn.

Mr. Parrott made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. DeBoer seconded the motion.
Upon roll call, Ayes: Parrott, DeBoer, Space Nays: None Absent: None Abstain: None

Mayor Space declared this workshop to be adjourned.
