MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COMMITTEE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WANTAGE, HELD AT THE WANTAGE TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 888 STATE HIGHWAY 23, WANTAGE, N.J. ON THE DATE OF JANUARY 12, 2006

Mayor Jeffrey Parrott called the workshop meeting to order, and requested the Clerk to call the roll. Upon roll call, the following members of the governing body were present: Mayor Parrott, Committee members DeBoer, Space. The following members were absent: None.

Mayor Parrott stated, “This meeting is being held in compliance with the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act, Public Laws 1975, Chapter 231. It has been properly noticed and posted to the public, and certified by the Clerk."

Mayor Parrott led the assembly in the Salute to the Flag.

Stephen and Reggie Phillips from R. S. Phillips Steel gave a presentation regarding relocating their operations from Vernon to the Ames facility in Wantage. Members of the Land Use Board and Harold Pellow were also present. The Committee informed the company that they encourage commercial development and would work with them in any way possible for a smooth transition and thanked the gentlemen for an informative presentation.

The Mayor and Committee discussed the Recreation Commission budget request. Jeanne McBride, Recreation Secretary, was also present. Mr. Tim Loughery, President of Sussex Wantage Little League was there to discuss the continued improvements to Lott Road, Field 1. Mayor Parrott is looking into seeing if it would be more cost effective to have an outside outfit maintain the fields than the Road Department.

Bob Wagner, Road Department Supervisor, was present and the need for additional help in the Road Department was discussed.

The remainder of the meeting was spent discussing Debt Service and proposed capital projects for the year. At this time, the only possible additions to the proposed capital plan would involve some additional money to coordinate the necessary transition costs for telephone, computer, electric, security alarms, etc., that were not included in the original construction costs, but need to get done

Mayor Parrott opened the meeting to the public at this time, for any questions or comments involving the good and welfare of the community.

As there was no one who wished to come forward, Mayor Parrott closed the meeting to the public and returned to the regular order of business.

There being no other items for consideration of the governing body at this time, Mr. DeBoer moved to adjourn the workshop session. Mr. Space seconded the motion. Upon roll call,
