Ordinance No. 2006-06

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 2-7 OF THE GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF
WANTAGE, NAMELY THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF RECREATION COMMISSIONERS

BE IT ORDAINED by the Township Committee of the Township of Wantage that Chapter 2-7 of the General Ordinances of the Township of Wantage, being the Chapter entitled “Board of Recreation Commissioners”, shall be and is hereby amended as follows:

Section 1. Section 2-7.2 shall be amended to read as follows:
Appointment of Members. The Board of Recreation Commissioners shall be composed of seven (7) members and two (2) alternate members who shall be appointed to office by the Mayor. The terms of office of the regular and alternate members shall be in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:12-1 and N.J.S.A. 40:12-1.1 respectively.

Section 2. Section 2-7.7 shall be amended to read as follows:
QUORUM. Four (4) Commissioners shall constitute a Quorum and may do all necessary and proper acts with the same force and effect as if the entire Commission so acted.

Section 3. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or the application of this ordinance to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected and shall remain in full force and effect.

Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances or resolutions inconsistent or in opposition to the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed in their entirety.

Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect after publication and passage according to law.

NOTICE
TAKE NOTICE that the above entitled ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Township Committee of the Township of Wantage, County of Sussex, New Jersey, held on February 9, 2006, and will be considered for final passage after public hearing at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Township Committee to be held on February 23, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, Route 23, Wantage, New Jersey. During the preceding week, copies of the ordinance will be made available at the Clerk’s office in the Municipal Building to members of the general public.
