DISCUSSION OF REPORTS

Mr. Plaza reported the following:

A Beagle bit a family friend on Pigeon Hill Road.  The dog was quarantined for ten days, everything was fine.

Mr. Paul Helmrich from Glen Road called and said All County Septic was at the site to search for a septic system.  Mr. Plaza explained to Mr. Helmrich that according to the July meeting, a county health official was supposed to be on site during the search.  Mr. Plaza also explained that when he performed a Public Health Nuisance Inspection Complaint (approx 12/06) of solid waste (mattress) being stored behind building, the basement door was open and upon calling into the basement then checking to see if anyone was in there, it was noted that a single one inch diameter galvanized drain pipe was noted coming down through the floor at the center rear of the building.  The pipe traveled diagonally to the center of the left side of the house to a leader type of pipe that traveled vertically straight down onto the dirt floor.  Mr. Plaza could not determine if the pipe entered into the floor any distance.  Mr. Plaza explained to Mr. Helmrich that the pipe could not possibly be connected to a toilet, also there was no PVC piping under the house as he reported to the Board of Health at the July 2006 meeting.  Mr. Helmrich stated he may have been confused when he said that.  Mr. Helmrich insisted a meeting at the site is still to take place.  Mr. Plaza explained that Mr. Helmrich’s engineer should be present at that meeting.  Mr. Helmrich stated he will call the County Health Department when he is ready for a joint site inspection.

The Dare Devil Deli received a warning for allowing employees to smoke in the establishment.  Failure to comply will result in a summons requiring an appearance before the Magistrate for a collection of a penalty and/or penalty assessment

There was a complaint of food poisoning at Christopher’s Deli.  The resident complained her child became ill after eating chicken strips.  No one else in the family became ill, no other residents complained of becoming ill.

All of the kennels in town passed inspection.

The Tara Inn is now serving food and looking to expand their menu in the future.

A septic on Alder Terrace has been moved after it was installed thirty nine feet from a neighbor’s well.  The original plans stated it would be sixty feet from the well.
