It has been properly advertised and certified”. On motion by Mr. Pelt, seconded by Mrs. Li Trenta, the minutes of May 9, 2007 were approved as presented and ordered filed. Roll call: Mrs. Floyd, Mrs. Li Trenta, Mr. Pelt, Mr. Greenaway, yes, carried. Absent: Dr. Braunwell. Abstain: None. READING OF REPORTS Mr. Plaza was not in attendance. SUSSEX COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES: NEW BUSINESS General discussion took place concerning the closing of LiBerti’s Restaurant. It was determined that the water was not the cause of the Norovirus outbreak. The Sussex County Health Department still does not know, nor may ever know the cause. The Board discussed other issues such as stricter water testing rules and the issuing of food handling licenses. Mrs. Kopec from Haggerty Road sent an e-mail complaining of the bat population near her house. She has counted over 100 bats at night. Her fear was that the bat dung could be a health hazard. Mr. Greenaway spoke with her and questioned whether the dung could possibly be from gypsy moths. Mr. Greenaway also explained that bats are protected by the State, and cannot be killed. OLD BUSINESS OPEN PUBLIC SESSION Mr. Meincke questioned why the DEP wanted the water sample at 16 Ramsey
Road. He wanted to know if the gas station had leaked into the
groundwater. Mr. Greenaway explained at this time we do not have
any information on that. Mr. Plaza was to contact Mr. Nazzanna
and report back to the Wantage Board of Health. A motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Pelt and seconded by Mrs. LiTrenta. Respectfully submitted, |
