2007 The Wantage Township Board of Health held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the Wantage Township Municipal Building, 888 State Route 23 South, Wantage, New Jersey 07461 at 7:30 p.m. Members present: Dr. Arthur H. Braunwell, Mrs. Susan Floyd, Mrs. Gloria Li Trenta, and Mr. Joseph Greenaway.Absent: Mr. Daniel Pelt.Also present was Jeanne McBride, Secretary and Michael Plaza, Sussex County Sanitarian. Mr. Greenaway made the following statement: “This meeting is being held in compliance with the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act, Public laws of 1975 Chapter 231. It has been properly advertised and certified”. On motion by Dr. Braunwell, seconded by Mrs. Floyd, the minutes of February 14, 2007 were approved as presented and ordered filed. Roll call: Dr. Braunwell, Mrs. Floyd, Mrs. Li Trenta, Mr. Greenaway, yes, carried. Absent Mr. Pelt READING OF REPORTS Sussex County Health Department – February 2007 DISCUSSION OF REPORTS Mr. Plaza reported the following: A customer complained there was no soap in the men’s room at Dunkin’ Donut, there was still no soap upon inspection. Mr. Plaza explained that soap must be in the dispenser at all times, he will continue to monitor, if it happens in the future he will issue a summons. On March 9, 2007 Mr. Plaza met with Mr. Helmrich and All County Septic at the Glen Road property. All County placed a transmitter on a snake and traced it to an area near the white house. A decayed tank was unearthed. To test further Mr. Plaza inserted water and dye through the sink and discovered the dye emptying into the unearthed area. Mr. Helmrich may resubmit his application. A customer complained of rodents and filth at the Quik Stop Deli. Upon inspection no evidence of rodents was detected. The owner stated he has an exterminator come in monthly. Mr. Plaza recommended an overall cleaning of the establishment. A 550 gallon oil tank was removed from 118 Beemer Church Road. The tank was leaking and assigned a DEP case number. A site inspection was recently completed on a new house on Dewitt Road. Then plans were submitted in 1988, the septic was installed in 1994. The owners wanted a Certificate of Compliance. Mr. Plaza explained to the owner what was needed to receive the certificate. A letter was sent to Dunn and Dunn Well Drilling regarding wells being drilled without permits. As of yet the well driller has not responded to the letter. A winery on Layton Road has applied for septic permits.
