DISCUSSION OF REPORTS

Mr. Plaza reported the following:

A neighbor complained of garbage piling up at 52 Fairview Terrace.  The owners have no garbage pick up, there was no evidence of rodents.  A notice of violation has been issued and it was explained to the owners if it happens again they will be issued a summons.

A vacant home at 45 Arrowhead Dr. is in the process of being refurbished.  Before they receive a certificate of occupancy a septic system must be installed.  Presently there is just a holding tank.  Mr. Greenaway suggested placing a sticker on the door that the residence is uninhabitable.  Mr. Plaza agreed.

A customer of the Sussex Queen Diner complained of bad creamers in their coffee.  It was noted upon inspection a basket of creamers on the counter.  The creamers stated they must be refrigerated.

An ongoing dispute between the neighbors on Mount Salem Road over an outdoor furnace has resulted in the DEP requesting the Health Department issue a summons for air pollution.

NEW BUSINESS

The date for the next Rabies Clinic is April 4, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Greenaway suggested all septic applications on any body of water in the Township come before the Board of Health.  After some discussion the board agreed to leave the policy as it is, come before the Board if the septic is to be placed 50 feet or closer to a body of water.
