READING OF REPORTS County Health Department May 2008 CORRESPONDENCE Drinking Water Sampling COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT Mr. Plaza reported the following: Quarterly water samples were taken and passed from the Beemerville Firehouse, the Sussex Wantage Library and Wantage Recreation fields. A Notice of Violation was issued to the owners of 32 Hickory Lane, an engineers report has been received and soil logs will be done next week. A prospective buyer questioned why a home located at 99 Schwungunk Trail owned by US Bank National Association Trust has two wells. In September 2004 the home was issued a Certificate of Compliance, the following month the well went dry. The first well was drilled by Dunn & Dunn. Ace Well & Pump drilled the second well. The first well should have been abandoned and sealed. Ace Well & Pump was prepared to abandon the well but the builder refused to pay for it. A summons for having two wells was issued to the property owner. The Coffee Beanery provided documentation for their septic system during their food review. The septic system is for an office not a restaurant. A restaurant requires ten gallons per seat, an office five gallons. Discussion is still going on regarding the septic. Letters have been sent out to property owners on Eileen Dr. informing them of lead in a potable well in their vicinity. The letter also suggests having their well tested for lead at a minimum. The Health Department has not received copies of water tests from the residents. A bat captured in a bedroom located at 61 Lowe Road tested negative for rabies. A resident complained of property located at 4 Passaic Ave., the complaint consisted of a swimming pool with stagnant water on top, garbage strewn in the yard, tall grass. The property is presently in foreclosure. Mr. Plaza will speak with mosquito control to possibly place mosquito eating fish, on the liner, in the puddles. Installation of the Eco Pure septic system on North Shore has begun, an excavation inspection has been completed. NEW BUSINESS None.
