March 12, 2008 WANTAGE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF HEALTH MINUTES OF THE MEETING MARCH 12, 2008 The Wantage Township Board of Health held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Wantage Township Municipal Building, 888 State Route 23 South, Wantage, New Jersey at 7:30 p.m. Members present: Dr. Arthur H. Braunwell Jr., Mrs. Susan Floyd, Mr. Daniel Pelt, Mr. Joseph Greenaway. Also present was Mr. Michael Plaza, Sussex County Sanitarian and Mrs. Jeanne McBride, Secretary. Absent: Mrs. Gloria Li Trenta. Mr. Greenaway made the following statement. “This meeting is being held in compliance with the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act, Public Laws of 1975 Chapter 231. It has been properly advertised and certified”. MINUTES On motion by Mr. Pelt, seconded by Dr. Braunwell, the minutes of the meeting of February 20, 2008 were approved as presented and ordered filed. Roll call: Dr. Braunwell, Mr. Pelt, Mr. Greenaway, yes. CARRIED READING OF REPORTS County Health Department February 2008 CORRESPONDENCE SUSSEX COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES: DISCUSSION OF REPORTS Mr. Plaza reported the following: The kennel inspections have been completed for the year, all are satisfactory. A Notice of Violation was issued to 52 Fairview Terrace for a complaint of garbage. Mr. Plaza has checked the property on a weekly basis and the owners have remedied the problem. Mr. Plaza has posted an ‘unfit for human habitation’ sticker with his name and number at 45 Arrowhead Drive. The home does not have an approved disposal system. Schools across Sussex County purchased beef from the company that had a recall on ground beef. None of the recalled numbers were purchased by Sussex Wantage Schools. NEW BUSINESS DISCUSSION OLD BUSINESS Mr. Pelt asked for an update on the outdoor furnace on Mount Salem Road. Mr. Plaza stated a fine has been issued and they are waiting for a response. The Board discussed extending the length of a septic permit. After careful consideration the Board agreed to leave the permits as they stand; a two year permit with a one year renewal. The local well permit will expire the same date at the state permit. An ordinance will be drafted. OPEN PUBLIC SESSION There being no public present Mrs. Floyd made the motion to adjourn,
