MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF RECREATION COMMISSIONERS FOR THE TOWNSHIP OF WANTAGE, HELD AT THE WANTAGE TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL BUILDING, ON JUNE 25, 2008.

CALL TO ORDER:
Board President Duane Armstrong called the meeting to order.

ROLL CALL:
Present:   Evelyn Baig, Jennifer Cary, Greg Williams, Duane Armstrong.
Absent:  Lorraine Card (alternate #1), Christine Feoranzo.

OPEN PUBLIC MEETING ACT COMPLIANCE
Mr. Armstrong stated, “This meeting is being held in compliance with the provisions of the Open Public meetings Act, Public laws of 1975 Chapter 231. It has been properly advertised and certified”.

NEW BUSINESS

Mrs. Baig made a motion to approve High Point Baseball’s
Lott Road field #1 & 2
  August 2, 2008 – November 2, 2008
  Tuesdays 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Williams seconded the motion.  Ayes:  Baig, Cary, Williams, Armstrong.  Nays:  None. Absent:  Card, Feoranzo.

Veterans Memorial Field:
Mr. Williams informed the Commission that Mrs. Feoranzo was organizing a Car Show at Woodbourne Park on October 4, 2008 as a fund raiser for the Veterans Memorial.  Mr. Armstrong made the motion for the Recreation Commission to have exclusive use of Woodbourne Park, Saturday October 4, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Mrs. Cary seconded the motion. Ayes:  Baig, Cary, Williams, Armstrong.  Nays:  None.  Absent:  Card, Feoranzo.
 
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Mr. Armstrong made the motion to approve the minutes of May 28, 2008.  Mrs. Cary seconded the motion.  Ayes:  Mrs. Cary, Mr. Williams, Mr. Armstrong. Nays:  None.  Absent:  Mrs. Card, Mrs. Feoranzo.  Abstain:  Mrs. Baig.

OPEN PUBLIC SESSION:
Mr. Pfeil informed the Commission that High Point Football plans to have games at the park on two separate Sundays this fall.  Mr. Pfeil said he would let the commission know when the trailer comes in regarding placement.  Mr. Pfeil said he spoke with Mr. Doherty and Mr. Pellow about building a new football field, construction may begin as early as this fall.
