CALL TO ORDER:

Board President Duane Armstrong called the meeting to order.

ROLL CALL:

OPEN PUBLIC MEETING ACT COMPLIANCE

Mr. Armstrong stated, “This meeting is being held in compliance with the provisions of the Open Public meetings Act, Public laws of 1975 Chapter 231. It has been properly advertised and certified”.

After much discussion Sussex Wantage Little League and High Point Youth Baseball’s application for field use will be tabled until the March 26th meeting. Mr. Armstrong requested schedules from each team to determine field usage.

The application for use of field #4 at Woodbourne Park by High Point Traveling Baseball is tabled until the March meeting because of a conflict with Little League.

OLD BUSINESS

General discussion took place updating the Commission on the Spring Fling scheduled for April 12th at the Beemerville Firehouse.

Mr. Williams updated the Commission on the monument for Veterans Memorial Park. Mr. Williams is currently working with the American Legion and is looking for an interested Eagle Scout for help. The dedication target date is May 2009. The Commission also discussed the sale of pavers as a fund raiser.

Resident Jean Ann Jaeger asked Jim Doherty to express her unhappiness with the number of signs that are displayed at the Wantage Dog Park to the Recreation Commission.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Mr. Williams made the motion to approve the minutes of January 23, 2008. Mrs. Feoranzo seconded the motion. Ayes: Mrs. Baig, Mrs. Feoranzo, Mr. Williams, Mr. Armstrong. Nays: None. Absent: None.
