For 3 to 5 year-olds and an adult partner. Class size is limited. Registration is required. Call 973-875-1471 or email highpointprograms@gmail.com. Come celebrate "Great Outdoors Month" by taking a short naturalist-guided walk and then trying out High Point's new Habitat Discovery Packs. Each pack contains an assortment of tools and field guides to help you explore and discover on your own as well as a take-home discovery guide full of fun outdoor activity ideas, resources, and suggestions for how to use the tools contained in the pack. Packs must be returned to the Interpretive Center by 4:00 PM.

Habitat Discovery Packs: Lakeside

Come celebrate at High Point by exploring Sawmill Lake with the park naturalist, and then continue your explorations on your own using High Point's new Discovery Packs. Each pack contains an assortment of tools and field guides to help you explore and discover on your own as well as a take-home discovery guide full of fun outdoor activity ideas, resources, and suggestions for how to use the tools contained in the pack. Packs must be returned to the Interpretive Center by 4:00 PM.

 

Solstice Yoga on the Mountain

Open for all levels. Registration is required, please call 973-702-0488.
Come and enjoy the view while relaxing your mind and body! The Friends of High Point are hosting a morning yoga class in the Interpretive Center at High Point State Park. To celebrate the solstice the class will be preceded by a short hike and will be followed by a period of additional relaxation. No previous experience is required, but you'll want to dress in layers, wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring a water bottle and your yoga mat. Suggested donation: $5.00. Proceeds support future "Yoga on the Mountian" and other Friends of High Point State Park programs and events.

 

Solstice Sunset Hike

Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Adults/children age 10 and up. Meet at the Sawmill Lake Boat Launch.
This short but strenuous hike up the half-mile Blue Dot Trail affords a beautiful viewpoint from which to watch the sunset on one of the longest days of the year. Round-trip, this hike covers about two miles and requires some agility. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are a must.

 

Kundalini Yoga - Summer Solstice Benefit

Weather permitting, this class will take place on a bluff with a view of Lake Marcia and the mountaintop. Homeschool Naturalists: Get Outdoors NJ! Discovery Packs

Children ages 6 to 9, accompanied by an adult. Group size is limited. Registration is required. Call 973-875-1471 or email highpointprograms@gmail.com. Come celebrate the end of the school year and "Great Outdoors Month" by borrowing one of High Point's new Habitat Discovery Packs and spending the day exploring the Park. These packs include a variety of tools that will help you explore and discover nature. Each pack includes a take-home discovery guide full of fun outdoor activity ideas, resources, and suggestions for how to use the tools contained inside. Spy on the treetops, try to catch a newt, corner a cricket, make a collage, climb a rock, observe nature up close and at distance, play a game...the only limit is your imagination!

Kilby and Taylor Concert on the Beach

Sponsored by the Friends of High Point State Park. Suggested donation: $5/adult. Proceeds support future concerts and other Friends of High Point State Park programs and events. Sussex County natives, Kilby and Taylor’s sound encompasses rock, blues, and country with a broad appeal.
