2012 Easter Egg Hunts

Over the past few weeks, Easter Egg Hunts were held by various Wantage groups.

The Chinkchewunska Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) hosted a hunt on the museum's grounds on April 1st. Events also included fun activities, a photo with the Easter Bunny, and tours of the historic museum.

On Saturday, March 24th, Friends of Lake Neepaulin held its 13th annual Easter Egg Hunt at Lake Neepaulin dam. Upwards of 1,000 candy- and coin-filled eggs decorated the landscape at the dam. Some eggs also contained ticket stubs that holders matched for stuffed-animal or game-toy prizes. In addition, there was a raffle for five oversized Easter baskets with treats and a large stuffed bunny.

Wantage Recreation's egg hunt was rescheduled to Saturday, April 7th as the previous Saturday was deemed too wet and too cold to hold the event. Sixty plus children, ranging from one to eight, attended the event held in Woodbourne Park. Fireman Dan's was on hand for hot dogs and other refreshments, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny topped off a perfect egg hunt for our local residents.

Organization-submitted photos of the events are posted below. DAR photos were submitted by Melanie Matthies. FOLN photos were submitted by Tom Jable. Wantage Recreation Committee's Jeanne McBride and Gregg Williams submitted the photos of the Wantage Recreation hunt.
