ATTENTION ALL TAXPAYERS: THE ESTIMATED TAX BILL MUST BE PAID!

Please remember that the estimated property tax bills mailed out on June 25, 2008 are due on August 1, 2008. The official Tax Bills for November, 2008 and February& May 2009, will be mailed in September 2008.

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE THE OFFICIAL TAX BILL BEFORE PAYING TAXES.
The Estimated Tax Bill is, indeed, a Tax Bill which must be paid by August 1st.

Beginning on or about August 4, 2008, and continuing until about August 30, 2008, Central School Road in Wantage Township will be closed for construction for its entire length. Please allow extra time and follow detour signs around the construction site.

Beginning on or about August 18, 2008, and continuing until about August 30, 2008, sections of Ryan Road, Crigger Road and Spreen Road in Wantage Township will be closed for construction. Please allow extra time and follow detour signs around the construction sites.

PSE&G has agreed to hold a Workshop in Wantage Township to discuss the proposal for establishing a new 500 kilovolt power line.

The workshop will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., at Beemerville Firehouse, 227 Route 519, Wantage, New Jersey.

TAKE NOTICE that the Mayor and Committee of the Township of Wantage and the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Sussex shall hold a Special meeting on May 8, 2008. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m., and will be held at the Wantage Township Municipal Building, 888 Route 23, Wantage, New Jersey. The purpose of the meeting shall be to hold the annual “Youth in Government” program. No formal action shall take place.

Consolidation" means that two or more towns combine into a new, single town. Please see the report, which explains the reasons why Wantage Township will be exploring the possibility of consolidating with other municipalities. This is a big issue and a complicated process. Not all answers will be known before the study is completed. If you have questions about this issue after reading the report, please contact us at: jim@wantagetwp-nj.org. TAKE NOTICE that the Mayor and Committee of the Township of Wantage shall hold a public hearing on the date of Thursday, March 13, 2008, beginning at 7:00 p.m.  The meeting will be held at the Wantage Township Municipal Building, 888 Route 23 in Wantage, New Jersey.  The purpose of the meeting shall be to review the Draft Open Space Plan for Wantage Township and accept public input and questions regarding the Draft Open Space Plan.  Formal action may take place.
