Consent Agenda
Consent agenda for the meeting of the Mayor and Committee of the Township of Wantage, held at the Municipal Building, 888 State Highway 23, Wantage, NJ at 7 PM on February 26, 2026.
All items listed below are considered routine in nature, and shall be considered for approval under one motion. Prior to roll call on approval of these items, the mayor shall open the meeting to the committee. If any member of the committee desires separate discussion and/or action on any item listed below, separate discussion and consideration.
Resolutions
Approval for the Following Actions:
- Authorizing Payment of Bills and Vouchers
- Resolution #51-2026 authorizing refunds for Certificate 25-00016
- Resolution #52-2026 authorizing refunds for Block 32 Lot 3
- Resolution #53-2026 authorizing a disabled veteran tax exemption for block 130 lot 9.02
- Resolution #54-2026 approving Outdoor Event License for Sussex Aviation
- Resolution #55-2026 adopting fourth round affordable housing spending plan
- Resolution #56-2026 adopting “rehabilitation plan” for Wantage Township

Regular Meeting Agenda
Agenda for a meeting of the Mayor and Committee of the Township of Wantage, held at the Municipal Building, 888 Route 23, Wantage, New Jersey, at 7 PM on February 26, 2026.
Mayor VanderGroef will call the meeting to order; Clerk will call the roll.
Mayor VanderGroef will state, "This meeting is being held in compliance with the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act, P.L. 1975, Ch. 231. It has been properly advertised and posted, and certified by the Clerk".
Mayor VanderGroef will invite all present to Salute the Flag.
Appointment
Mayor VanderGroef shall announce the appointment Adrian Jinks to the LEPC Committee as Evacuation Coordinator.
Consent Agenda
At this time, The Mayor will request that the governing body Review the Consent Agenda. If any member of the governing body desires an item to be removed, the Township Clerk shall remove said item, which shall be considered separately, with the removal of PO #21888 for C&E Tires in the amount of $440.00.
A Motion is in order to approve PO#21888 for C&E Tires in the amount of $440.00.

Approval of Minutes
A motion is in order to approve the minutes of the Mayor and Committee Meeting on February 12, 2026.
A motion is in order to approve the minutes of the Mayor and Committee Budget Meeting and Special Meeting on February 18, 2026.
Ordinances
Ordinance #03-2026
A motion is in order to adopt Ordinance #03-2026, an Ordinance amending the revised general ordinances of the Township of Wantage Chapter XXI of the Municipal code of the Township of Wantage entitled fees by amending section 21-10 to adjust the fees contained therein.
Mayor VanderGroef will open the meeting to the public.
Ordinance #04-2026
A motion is in order to adopt Ordinance #04-2026, an Ordinance amending the revised general Ordinances of the Township of Wantage, Chapter 13 Zoning, Section 13-25.2 permits and Chapter 140 Land Use and Development Regulations, Section 140-128.
Mayor VanderGroef will open the meeting to the public.
Ordinance #05-2026
A motion is in order to introduce Ordinance #05-2026, an Ordinance of the Township of Wantage, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey repealing and replacing Chapter 27 Affordable Housing of the revised general ordinances of the Township to repealing section 13-5.10 growth share ordinance to comply with the New Jersey Fair Housing Act and affordable housing obligations and repealing Chapter 27 affordable housing and adopting new Chapter 27 affordable housing.
Ordinance #06-2026
A motion is in order to introduce Ordinance #06-2026, an ordinance amending the revised general ordinances of the Township of Wantage, Chapter 13, Zoning, adding §13-24.24 Mandatory Set-Aside.
Ordinance #07-2026
A motion is in order to introduce Ordinance #07-2026, an Ordinance amending the revised general ordinances of the Township of Wantage, Chapter 13, Zoning, §13-4B, §13-4C and §13-4D.
Ordinance #08-2026
A motion is in order to introduce Ordinance #08-2026, an Ordinance appropriating the sum of $25,000.00 for improvements to the Township Building.

The Mayor will open the meeting to the public at this time, for any questions or comments involving the good and welfare of the community. To help facilitate an orderly meeting and to permit the opportunity for anyone who wishes to be heard, please limit your comments to four minutes. Additional time may be granted, at the sole discretion of the Mayor and Committee. If you are reading from a prepared statement, or presenting a written document, please provide a copy to the Clerk’s office after making your comments, so it may be properly reflected in the minutes. After all persons have had an opportunity to address the governing body, the Mayor will close the meeting to the public and the Governing body will return to the regular order of business.
